A hardware lab for teams that do not have one
Halfbridge Engineering is an electronics engineering company based in Barcelona. We exist for one situation: a company has a product that needs electronics, and nobody in the team can take the hardware from where it is to where it has to be.
Background
Our engineering lead holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), with doctoral research on modulation strategies for high-efficiency power converters in electric-vehicle charging systems. That work involved designing, building and measuring power hardware on the bench for several years, which is exactly the discipline most product teams lack.
Around that core we cover the whole chain of a product: architecture, schematic, layout, firmware, validation and production. When a project needs a skill we do not have in-house, we say so and bring in a specialist we trust, under our responsibility.
How we work
- Measure before guessing. Every claim in our reports is backed by a measurement, a calculation or a datasheet reference.
- You own everything. Native source files, firmware and data are delivered at the end of each phase. No lock-in.
- Written, weekly. A short written progress report every week, so you always know where the money is going.
- Say no when it is not our field. We would rather lose a project than deliver one we cannot stand behind.
What we are not
We are not a marketplace, not a contract manufacturer and not a certification body. We are the engineers who make the design right, measure it and prepare it for the manufacturer and the test lab.
Languages and location
We work in English, Spanish and Catalan, on Central European Time, from Barcelona. Our clients are spread across the EU, the UK and Switzerland.
