Bring-up & debugging
This is where most teams without a lab get stuck: the board is back, something does not work, and there is no oscilloscope, no rework station and nobody who has seen the failure before. We power it up methodically, find the fault and fix it.
First power-on, rail-by-rail verification and systematic debugging of new or misbehaving boards on a fully equipped bench.
When you need it
- Your boards just arrived and nobody has powered them yet.
- Something does not work and you do not know if it is hardware or firmware.
- The board resets, overheats, loses communication or behaves differently from unit to unit.
What you hand us
- Two or more boards (one may be sacrificed during debugging).
- Schematic, layout and BOM in any format.
- Firmware image or source, and a description of the symptoms.
What you get back
- Bring-up report: rail voltages, currents, clocks, interfaces verified one by one.
- Root cause of every failure found, with evidence (captures, thermal images, measurements).
- Reworked boards where the fix can be applied by hand.
- Change list for the next board revision.
How we do it
Current-limited first power, one rail at a time. Then clocks, reset, programming interface and each peripheral in turn. When something fails we measure before we guess: waveforms, thermal images, current profiles, protocol captures.
Where a fix can be tested on the existing board (a bodge wire, a different resistor, a lifted pin) we do it, so the next revision is based on proof.
Questions about bring-up & debugging
Can you debug a board designed by someone else?
Yes. Bring-up and debugging of third-party designs is a large part of our work. We only need the design files and a description of what should happen.
What if the problem turns out to be firmware?
We have the tools to tell the difference and we write embedded firmware ourselves, so the investigation does not stop at the hardware boundary.
Send us what you have. We tell you what it takes to finish it.
