Fabrication & assembly

Getting boards made is easy. Getting the right boards made, with the right parts, without a month of back-and-forth with the assembler, takes experience. We handle ordering, sourcing and incoming inspection.

We order PCBs, source components and manage assembly of your prototype boards with vetted European and Asian manufacturers.

When you need it

  • You have production files and need physical boards.
  • Your last prototype order came back with wrong parts or assembly defects.
  • You want boards assembled in Europe for speed or confidentiality.

What you hand us

  • Gerbers, BOM and pick-and-place files, or our layout output.
  • Quantity, and whether some boards should be left partially assembled for debugging.

What you get back

  • Fabricated and assembled boards, inspected on arrival.
  • Sourcing report: parts substituted, lead times, prices at prototype and volume.
  • Consolidated manufacturer feedback and DFM findings for the next revision.

How we do it

We choose the fabricator by what the board needs: quick-turn Asian manufacturers for simple prototypes, European shops for tight timelines, fine-pitch or confidentiality. Components are sourced from authorised distributors.

Hardware is passed through at cost plus a small handling fee, itemised on the invoice.

Questions about fabrication & assembly

Do you mark up the boards?

Hardware is invoiced at cost with a handling fee shown separately. Engineering time for ordering and inspection is billed at the normal rate.

How long does a prototype run take?

Usually two to three weeks from order to boards on the bench, depending on the manufacturer and component availability.
