Engineering
The lab

A full electronics bench, without buying one

The instruments you need a few times per product cost more than most prototype budgets. Ours are calibrated to the job, set up and operated by engineers who use them every day.

Procedure

What happens when your board arrives

The same sequence for every new board, whoever designed it.

  1. Inspection

Visual and magnified inspection of assembly, orientation, solder joints and shorts on power rails before any voltage is applied.

  2. Current-limited power-on

Each rail brought up separately with current limits. Voltages, ripple, start-up sequence and quiescent current recorded.

  3. Function by function

Clocks, reset and programming first, then each interface and peripheral. Every result logged with the capture that proves it.

  4. Stress and report

Load, temperature and supply corners. Thermal images at full load. A written report with the evidence and a change list.

What stays with partners

We do not pretend to do everything in-house. PCB fabrication and machine assembly go to specialised manufacturers we have vetted. Accredited EMC, radio and safety testing is done by notified or accredited laboratories; we prepare the product, attend the tests when useful and handle the fixes. Large-volume production goes to contract manufacturers, with the production package we prepare.

Why the bench matters to a software team

A firmware bug and a hardware fault look identical from the application: the device resets, a sensor returns nonsense, the battery drains. Without an oscilloscope, a current probe and a thermal camera, teams spend weeks changing code to work around an electrical problem. On a bench, the same question usually takes an afternoon.
