Schematic design

The schematic is where the product is actually designed. We draw it for manufacture from day one: parts that can be bought in volume, protection on every external connection, a power tree that has been calculated, and test points where the bring-up will need them.

Complete, reviewed schematics with component selection, protection, power tree and design calculations documented.

When you need it

  • Your architecture or proof of concept is settled and it is time for a custom board.
  • You have a schematic drafted by someone else and want it finished or reviewed.
  • A previous design works on the bench but you do not trust it for production.

What you hand us

  • Requirements, block diagram or proof-of-concept notes.
  • Existing schematics in any format (KiCad, Altium, Eagle, PDF, even photos of paper).
  • Preferred or mandatory components, if any.

What you get back

  • Hierarchical schematic in KiCad, or in your EDA tool by agreement.
  • Bill of materials with manufacturer part numbers and at least one alternate for critical parts.
  • Design notes: power tree, current and thermal calculations, protection strategy, interface pinout.
  • Schematic review checklist, signed off before layout starts.

How we do it

Every component choice is checked for stock at two distributors and for lifecycle status. Every external connector gets ESD and reverse-polarity thinking. Every regulator gets a loss and thermal calculation. The result is a schematic another engineer can pick up without asking us anything.

If you hand us a half-finished schematic, we first review it and give you a written list of issues, then continue in the same file so nothing is lost.

Questions about schematic design

Which EDA tools do you use?

KiCad is our default because the files belong to you and need no licence to open. We can pick up projects started in other tools and agree the delivery format before starting.

Do I own the schematic?

Yes. All source files, libraries and documentation are transferred to you on payment. There is no lock-in.

Send us what you have. We tell you what it takes to finish it.

Answer five questions and see an indicative budget in two minutes. When you are ready, sign our NDA, upload your documentation and get a fixed quote. Everything by e-mail, with a call whenever you prefer.
