Test & validation
A board that works on your desk has passed one test. Validation checks the rest: supply variations, temperature, load steps, long runs, worst-case components. The output is a report you can show to a customer, an investor or a certification lab.
Structured verification of a working prototype against its specification: electrical, thermal, power and functional tests with a written report.
When you need it
- You have a working prototype and need to know its real margins.
- A pilot customer or partner asks for test evidence.
- You are about to spend money on production or certification.
What you hand us
- Working prototypes (three or more for meaningful results).
- Specification or requirements, or we derive them with you.
What you get back
- Test plan tied to each requirement.
- Measurement report with captures, thermal images and pass/fail per requirement.
- Efficiency, power consumption and battery-life measurements where relevant.
- Recommendations ranked by risk.
How we do it
Each requirement gets a test with a defined method and limit. Power products are characterised across line and load: efficiency maps, ripple, transient response, thermal rise. Low-power products get current profiles in every operating mode.
We report failures as clearly as passes, with the evidence needed to fix them. Sometimes the honest result of a test is that the design, ours or yours, cannot meet a requirement as it stands. That is a valid outcome: we deliver it with the evidence and re-plan the next steps with you.
Questions about test & validation
Is this the same as certification?
No. Validation proves the design meets its own specification. Certification tests against a standard at an accredited lab. Validation first makes certification much cheaper.
How many boards do you need?
Three is a practical minimum. Five or more if you want an idea of unit-to-unit variation.
